Frequently Asked Questions

Does Mootch require an internet connection to work?

No. Mootch runs entirely offline on your Mac. The transcription AI (Whisper) processes your voice locally, ensuring complete privacy, zero latency, and the ability to present anywhere.

How do I change the scrolling speed?

You don't need to! If you have Smart Voice Control enabled, Mootch listens to your voice and automatically scrolls exactly as you speak. If you pause, the prompter pauses. If you want manual control, you can still adjust the manual scrolling speed directly in the app's settings, or simply drag the text up and down with your mouse.

Can I use an external microphone?

Yes. Mootch will automatically use your Mac's default system input device. You can easily change the audio source to any connected external microphone directly from the app's settings menu.

Is Mootch a subscription?

No. Mootch is a one-time purchase on the Mac App Store. There are no recurring fees or in-app purchases.
