At Mootch, your privacy is our highest priority. As an AI-driven teleprompter designed for privacy, our core principle is keeping your data on your device.

  • Personal & Voice Data: All audio processing and voice transcription happens 100% locally on your Mac using the on-device AI model. We do not record, store, or transmit your voice data, audio files, or transcripts to any cloud servers.
  • Usage & Diagnostics (macOS App): The macOS application does not include any third-party analytics or tracking SDKs. We may receive anonymous crash reports and basic app usage metrics provided by Apple through the Mac App Store, if you have opted into sharing analytics with developers via your macOS privacy settings.
  • Website Analytics & Cookies: On our website (mootch.app), we use Google Analytics to measure visitor engagement, such as page views and button clicks. Google Analytics uses cookies to collect anonymous, aggregated data about how visitors interact with the site. This tracking is strictly limited to the website and does not extend to the macOS application.

2. Data Usage

Any data we do receive is used strictly for:

  • Website: Understanding website traffic, user acquisition, and overall visitor engagement to improve our marketing and website content.
  • macOS App: Analyzing anonymous crash logs provided by Apple to improve app stability and fix bugs.
  • Support: Providing basic customer support when you contact us directly.

3. Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or otherwise transfer your personal information to outside parties. We do not share any usage data with third-party advertisers or analytics networks.

4. User Rights

Because Mootch processes your teleprompter scripts and voice data entirely offline and locally on your device, you maintain complete ownership and control over your data. You can delete your data by simply clearing your scripts within the app or uninstalling the application.

5. Security

The most secure data is data that never leaves your device. By performing all voice recognition via a local AI model on your Mac's hardware, we eliminate the risks associated with cloud-based transcription services. Your scripts and voice never traverse the internet.

6. Policy Updates

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page. For significant changes, we will update the modification date below. Your continued use of the app after any modifications indicates your acceptance of the new policy.
